ARROWS provided comprehensive legal advice to one of Europe's largest carriers, which was required by European legislation to set up a European Works Council following a spin-off from another business group.
This challenging process involved coordination and communication in more than ten European countries, taking into account the specificities of national labour law. European trade unions and other relevant stakeholders have also been heavily involved in the process.
The transaction was led by Mgr. Jakub Oliva, LL.M., MSc., a partner at our law firm and a specialist in labor law, who has extensive experience in collective bargaining and defending employers against class actions brought by employees. Jakub, together with his team consisting of Mgr. Bc. Kryštof Pažourek, Mgr. Kateřina Nováková and JUDr. Barbora Kořenářová, coordinated the entire process and ensured the smooth running of negotiations across European countries.
This case was also a challenge for the law firm due to the involvement of various legal regulations within the European Union, and the ARROWS team demonstrated its ability to effectively navigate between the legislative nuances and satisfy the client's needs on an international level.
