ARROWS Law Firm provided comprehensive legal advice to one of Europe's largest transport groups in connection with the establishment of a European Works Council. The obligation to establish the council arose after the client separated from another business group and was linked to the company's extensive operations in more than ten European Union countries.
Legal support included strategic process design, communication with foreign lawyers in all relevant jurisdictions, and coordination of procedures with regard to differing national legislation. Negotiations with representatives of trade unions at the European level and other entities affected by relevant EU regulations also played an important role.
The team was led by Mgr. Jakub Oliva, LL.M., MSc., head of the Olomouc branch and an expert in labor law, who has long specialized in representing employers in labor disputes and in negotiations with trade unions. The project was also attended by Mgr. Bc. Kryštof Pažourek, a specialist in labor law with experience in international relations, and JUDr. Barbora Kořenářová, an expert in administrative and labor law.
This was an extremely complex legal process involving more than ten jurisdictions, the successful completion of which was made possible by the professional work of the entire team.
