Vzniká Integrační program Ukrajina. Pomáhá uprchlíkům v životních i byznysových otázkách
The initiator of the project is Pavel Staněk, one of the founding members of the Arrows advisory network, an associate and a member of the parliament of the Czech Republic: "Many people have contacted us who were confused and did not know how to adapt. So we started to help people from Ukraine who really want to integrate with the issues that life itself brings. For example, with the paperwork for starting a business. Or even with less common, but quite complicated situations, such as divorce of Ukrainian marriages in the Czech Republic. By communicating with refugees, we gain insight into their current needs and turn them into the activation of other elements of assistance. And for me as a legislator, these are also important suggestions for possible new legislation."

The coordinator of the IPU project is Anastasia Dzhygola, a Ukrainian lawyer who fled to Prague before the war: 'By talking to people from Ukraine, I gathered suggestions from which we created four key areas of assistance. The first one focuses on providing assistance, where a person deals with how to become a resident from a refugee. The second area is the business part, where an entrepreneur wants to start a business in the Czech Republic. The third is linked to the core area of revitalising Ukraine with targeted investments after the war," Anastasiia Dzhygola explains the structure of the IPU project. "That is why we have created an area for pro bono activities. Here we talk about helping single mothers or the elderly."
In addition to Arrows, the Czech Chamber of Commerce, CzechInvest, the Ukrainian law network Selepey, Volkovetsky & Partners and the non-profit organization Czechitas are participating in the project. More partner organisations are joining all the time, recognising the importance of creating a partnership network of assistance across regions and countries.
"We are currently helping people from Ukraine in our specialised advisory centre, where they turn to us with their life and business questions. Across our partners we are already discussing how to effectively involve Czech entrepreneurs and companies in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction," explains Radek Jakubský, Vice President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
CzechInvest, which plays a key role in the Czech Republic in the area of business and investment, is also involved in the project. "At the moment, we are helping mainly in the area of building business for people from Ukraine in the Czech Republic, or helping them find jobs through the special jobs4ua.cz portal, where there are now more than 900 job offers," adds Jakub Hájek, Director of the Start-ups and Innovative SMEs Division, a partner for CzechInvest.
The project officially starts today and will last at least until the end of the year. It is estimated to help thousands of people. They can apply for help easily, for example, through an online form at arws.cz/www/integracni-program-ukrajina/.
