He assists clients particularly when their business operations extend beyond the borders of the Czech Republic or when they need to align their business practices with European regulatory requirements.

International Trade and Cross-Border Matters

Karel is a member of the ARROWS International team and regularly handles legal matters involving multiple jurisdictions. He drafts and reviews commercial contracts for clients, advises on cross-border supplier and distribution relationships, and addresses issues regarding the choice of governing law or jurisdiction.

If a case requires the involvement of foreign attorneys, he coordinates collaboration with local counsel through the ARROWS International network. This allows clients to manage their entire international affairs through a single point of contact, even in cases where a project spans multiple countries.

GDPR, European Regulation, and Compliance

A significant part of Karel’s practice focuses on data protection and the GDPR, European regulation, and related compliance matters. He primarily assists companies with the practical structuring of their operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements without unnecessarily complicating their day-to-day operations and business relationships.

In cross-border projects, he addresses issues such as the transfer of personal data abroad, the contractual framework governing relationships between individual entities, and the impact of European regulations on the client’s business.

International Disputes and Debt Collection

Karel also focuses on international commercial disputes and debt collection abroad. He first works with the client to assess where and how their claim can be effectively pursued and whether pursuing the dispute makes economic sense given its value, costs, and enforceability.

In his work, he emphasizes practical results. Therefore, he does not merely present clients with a list of legal risks, but rather outlines possible courses of action and recommends which option is most appropriate in terms of time, cost, and enforceability.
